Hi everyone, this is Madhu Govindarajan from MathWorks. In this blog, we will discuss how to get started with Boe Bot and Simulink support package for Arduino. I have created a Shy pet that uses the tactile sensor of the Boe Bot and the IR sensor that is part of the kit to detect obstacles/human beings and run away from them. I called it a Shy Pet because the tactile sensors resemble whiskers and the IR sensor mounts reminds me of their eyes. Here is a picture of the Shy pet after assembly.
To get started with the hardware kit and Simulink Support package -
- Install the Support package following instructions from this tutorial.
- Follow the YouTube video in the bottom of this page to get started. (Files are here)
- Download these files and take a look at how the tactile/whisker and IR sensor information is brought in and used to create this shy pet.
