While walking through CES 2012, I stumbled across several innovative technology that is sure to penetrate all our lives. This is one of them.
As applications of NFC technologies expand from purchasing to business card transactions, people need NFC readers to integrate into their computer systems. The company Cirque is leading the field by integrating their Cirque Glidepoint NFC reader directly into a computers track pad. For those who are not looking to buy a new computer, Cirque Gluidepoint NFC pad is also producing USB plug-in readers for laptops and tablets.
The Cirque Glidepoint track pad instantly detects any NFC or RFID device and automatically transfers the intended information to the laptop or tablet. Maps, videos and other helpful websites and information are easily and automatically loaded by the laptop from the NFC portable devices placed on top of the Glidepoint track pad.
The Glidepoint reader is an antenna with touch sensing. It is located exactly where underthe laptop’s track pad. This development comes off the heels of Cirque's toppling of simultaneous touch and NFC communication from the same place back in July of 2011. Estimates for the laptop-embedded Gluidepoint reader have it hitting stores in mid-2013 while Cirque’s external readers should be available in the next four months.
