The United States intelligence branch, the FBI, is going green for their remote field operations. Arista Power has stated that the FBI is purchasing one of their Mobile Renewable Power Stations (MRPS). The MRPS incorporates a unique wind turbine capable of 1 MWh of power, efficient solar cells, fuel cells and a power storage system with the ability to provide AC and DC power connections. The entire package is transportable on a towable trailer. Although not as small as the FBI's common place diesel-fueled power generators, it has one very important feature. The MRPS is whisper quiet and has the most minimal heat signature.
Ultimately, the MRPS will be used for FBI communication equipment in remote areas where stealth is key. Arista Power's Chief Executive Officer William Schmitz has an optimistic vision of the future with the military. He said, "There is no other system like ours. We see our system as a cost-effective alternative to using diesel generators in the field. Our system is versatile, scalable, reduces the number of site visits for refueling, and can be custom-designed to incorporate a variety of technologies to service virtually any power requirement. Remote monitoring is a rapidly growing application. We are seeing increasing interest in our Mobile Renewable Power Station, both in the commercial market and from a number of government agencies, including the U.S. Army, and we expect additional orders going forward."
