Whenever I played golf, I usually ended up frustrated and with blisters all over my fingers. Much later, after I stopped playing, I was told that the club should do all of the work, not my hands. The German company Sensolutions, has come up with a device intended to alleviate this common mistake, commonly referred to as the death grip. The device is intended to help every golfer, from beginner to advanced level players, find their optimum grip and their best swing.
Supposed improvement. I would be happy with either, to be honest. (Via SensoGlove)
The new version of this device, dubbed the SensoGlove, was developed implementing feedback received from PGA pros. The device has sown-in pressure sensors at each finger that connect to a tiny computer hidden behind a 1.2 in LCD display. The goal is to maintain a light grip for a smooth, powerful swing and a much-improved game.
The device comes with a new feature called “Automatic Sensitivity Selection” that registers your lightest and strongest grip on a scale from 1-18 and recommends a swing pressure in between. Once you found the grip pressure perfect for your swing, you can register it, and the device will make sure you stay right around that level. It analyzes your hand pressure at 80 cycles per second throughout your entire swing and visual and audio feedback alert you exactly when your grip becomes deadly. It will then indicate which finger needs to be adjusted. This prevents bad habits from forming and quickly teaches how to hold the club.
The glove is made of high-quality cabretta leather. The LCD screen is sweat-proof and the company says the sensors are not connected to the computer using wires, so there is no chance for short circuits or water damage. The LCD display also disconnects from the glove, so it can be used with other SensoGlove of any size. SensoGlove includes standard watch batteries that will last 80-100 hours. It comes in many different sizes for men and women, all for 89$ each. Since the LCD screen can be disconnected, replacement gloves sell for $22.48. For the love of god, I hope the news of the SensoGlove reaches golfers everywhere before they have a death grip around their own necks.
