For anyone wanting to learn how to dance new dancing shoes are here to show you just what to do. The Groundwave Shadow Trainers designed by Tom Sykes are shoes made to work with a smart phone app to teach people how to dance. Sykes of Loughborough Design School came up with the idea for a more fun and interactive way to learn to dance.
The dancing shoes sport an athletic look, but deep inside they feature accelerometers which communicate with one's smartphone. The smartphone app can provide demonstrations of dance moves and provide real time feedback to let the users know how they are doing. In addition, the system can work as a type of game for kids. Dance teams can be created along with challenges to compete for a high score. Thanks to Sykes's design more people will be dancing, and less guys will be stepping on girl's feet. (Not to mention, less time embarrassing themselves.)
Future use in the medical field has potential too.
