UK based mobile phone company Orange has announced a prototype t-shirt that recharges gadgets using a piezoelectric sensor board that is reactive to sound. If you happen to be attending the Glastonbury Festival, in the UK starting June 20th 2011, you may see a few people sporting the shirt in a field test/promotional type of way.
Around the Spirit of 71 stage, Orange will be conducting live tests and to see which acts are the "best to charge to." Sounds like a fun way to get to promote.
Orange head of sponsorship Andrew Pearcey says, "In a vibrant festival environment such as Glastonbury, sound is such an obvious medium that it seemed like a natural fit to use it in the development of this year's prototype."
