Voltissimo rapid charged battery packs (via Voltissimo)
With the increasingly large amount of mobile devices being used today, many people hate to see the “low battery” message when they look down at their device. It’s becoming cause for anxiety for many. Also with the growing attachment, many people have to their smart phones, forgetting to charge your phone before you leave for work can mean the beginning of a bad day. Many companies realized this, and there have been many external batteries that have been created to help these people out. Some may be small so they can comfortably fit in a pocket or purse. Others may be a little larger and capable of charging a device a few times over, perfect for a long trip. However, for the people who have very little time at home to charge their phone, Voltissimo only needs 15 minutes connected to a wall outlet to be able to charge an iPhone battery fully.
Voltissimo, is available in two different colors of black or white. Furthermore, it also comes in two different capacities, 4,000mAH priced at $190, or 8,000mAH priced at $235. The device can charge up to two devices simultaneously through its two standard USB ports, while the battery itself is charged through an AC wall adapter. While it can charge an iPhone from only 15 minutes of being plugged into the wall, it is also capable of charging any other device, which supports a standard USB interface.
Due to the company being Japanese and the original press release being in the native language, there has been a big misconception about the charger. It was originally reported with the mistranslation that the charger is capable of charging an iPhone in 15 minutes. This is in fact not possible due to the fact that there is only a certain amount of current the device would draw from the source. In theory, voltage can be increased to get this effect, but that would come with the side-effect of damaging batteries. Therefore, to clear some misconceptions, the external battery can be charged up to 1,440mAH in 15 minutes from a wall outlet, which in turn, is capable of charging an iPhone battery fully once.
The fast charge is nice. However, unless you are one who forgets to charge your phone in at night, and would benefit greatly from a quick 15-minute charge, this mobile battery may not be worth it. There are many other possible mobile battery packs available through the web, many of which are cheaper and will provide the same service. Voltissimo does come with a large capacity, but once again, I have seen some online with 9,000mAH, which will cost you around $50. The product is available for pre-order right now, and will begin shipping later this month, but we can't forget, “patience is a virtue.”
