Sharp Corporation's 12.1-Megapixel CMOS camera brings 35mm film quality to the smallest package size yet. At 10mm square and 5.47mm tall, the RJ63TC100 is the thinnest camera module in the industry. In fact, the module is in "response to the demand for portable mobile devices with ever more slender designs."
Their "proprietary high-density packaging technology" is capable of 1080p HD capture. Internally, the module has an optical stabilizer that will tilt the lens to keep the image in focus. At the moment, the module costs $154; adoption of the tech will be slow.
