12 December 2012 – Leeds - Employees from Farnell element14, which employs 850 people in Armley, Leeds, held a Christmas lunch for 120 local elderly people at its facility on Canal Road today (12 December).
Lord Mayor of Leeds, Councillor Ann Castle, attended the eighth annual event at the electronics distribution organisation where 60 volunteers from the company supported with preparing and serving food and entertaining guests.
Neil Harrison, President of Farnell element14, said: “It is incredibly important to support the local community in which we are working. It is also well reported that some elderly people can often become isolated especially in the winter months and around Christmas. We’ve had great feedback from previous years that this day really helps combat these feelings of isolation and our teams simply enjoy the great spirit of the day. I am proud of our employees who took the time out to make the day special for all involved.”
Farnell element14 is the European trading brand of Premier Farnell plc (LSE:pfl), a global leader in high service distribution of technology products and solutions for electronic system design maintenance and repair.
