EAGLE 5.11 allows instant price check and availability, enabling automatically addition of parts to a shopping cart from a schematic

Best selling CAD Tool of its kind, EAGLE, now allows instant price check and availability, enabling design engineers to automatically add parts to a shopping cart directly from a schematic

CadSoft Computer GmbH has launched of EAGLE software version 5.11. This latest version of the award - winning EAGLE software, the best selling CAD tool of its kind, incorporates new “DesignLink” functionality, giving electronic design engineers (EDEs) automatic search through element 14, with online check of pricing and availability, as well as access to the latest data. Set-up and save options are now available for individual order lists for schematics, with a simple function to add the list to a shopping cart. All EAGLE manufacturer libraries are now supplied with order codes and in addition, users can now transfer quote parameters to element14 to get a quote for manufacturing a PCB designed with EAGLE.

The software is available from element14, the company’s innovative Community for EDEs, bringing Web 2.0 to engineers, along with over 10,000 technical documents and software tools.  All versions of EAGLE including the FREE evaluation licence edition ‘Freemium’ contain DesignLink.
EAGLE v5.11 has 3 main elements: schematic, layout and autorouter. Users also enjoy many additional features including an unlimited “undo/redo” function and “follow me router”, which allows the EDE to accept or overwrite router recommendations. This new version reinforces Premier Farnell’s commitment to provide ‘beyond product’ design solutions to EDEs.
“The implementation of these new enhancements gives us more tools to help our customers in their design process. It has never been easier to design a PCB and order the components engineers need to build a prototype with a single click.” said Thomas Liratsch, CadSoft’s General Manager. Our design community, when combined with our leading -edge transactional websites, offers customers a complete online solution to their purchasing and design needs”.
