Cymbet's EnerChip has won the Best of Sensors bronze award at the Best of Sensors Expo 2009.
The competition recognises new products, awarding merit for potential impact, application, distinctiveness, timeliness and availability.
Cymbet's EnerChip is an energy harvesting module for autonomous wireless sensor networks and was among the products on show at the conference, which took place on June 8th and 9th last week.
The EnerChip harvests energy from photovoltaic cells and other sources, which it then stores and distributes across the rest of the device according to power requirements.
Melanie Martella, executive editor of Sensors magazine, said: "All of the nominations demonstrated exceptional innovation, integration and ease-of-use.
"We believe this year's winners will be leaders in the sensors marketplace and offer our congratulations to the companies recognised."
Sensors' staff formed most of the judging panel which selected the EnerChip for its award.
A total of eight products were demonstrated by Cymbet at the Sensors Expo last week.
