PA&E's latest electrical connector has a temperature operating range of -65 degrees C to 155 degrees C.
The new aluminium 38999 DC connector also provides a leak rate of less than 1X10-9cc/sec helium at one atmospheric differential pressure, in addition to an insulation resistance of 5,000 megohms.
Adaptable to 24 to 30 AWG solid or stranded wire, the new hermetic connector can be laser welded into aluminium housings, ensuring that components are exposed to the least-hostile welding environment possible.
The new component connector is built to the same standards as the company's other MIL-Spec compliant interconnect products, making use of the Kryoflex ceramic-to-metal sealing technology.
Shaun McGuire, vice-president of engineering at the firm, said: "This new aluminium 38999 DC connector is unique in the market.
"We can now offer our customers a 38999 connector that is up to 60 per cent lighter than our standard stainless steel version and still provides the reliable hermetic performance we're known for."
PA&E was among the leading avionics manufacturers to exhibit at the Avionics USA Expo earlier this month.
