An updated version of MTS Systems' magnetostrictive Temposonics linear-position sensors allow for greater accuracy in the plastics industry.
The sensors now feature a faster update rate option which updates measurements every 100 microseconds, lending higher precision to industrial applications such as injection moulding, extruders and thermoforming machines.
Matt Hankinson, marketing manager at MTS' sensor division, said the sensors can greatly enhance the performance and productivity of modern plastics processing equipment.
"MTS' proprietary synchronization technology guarantees the most accurate position output while minimizing, inherent system related delays to produce smooth, precise control," he commented.
The linear-position sensors also have the ability to generate up to 20 simultaneous position outputs along a given sensing element, making them a cheaper alternative to proximity sensor arrays.
In March the firm announced at Interphex that it has increased the maximum order length of the Level Plus model MG level transmitter to 20 per cent longer than the previously available length.
