Dortmund-based laser photonics firm LIMO recently exhibited its technologies among some 1,040 other companies at Munich's Laser World of Photonics.
The firm reports that all participants made the economic potential of optical technologies clear, with a particular emphasis on the key topics, 'Laser in Photovoltaics Manufacturing' and 'Biophotonic and Life Sciences'.
Chief marketing officer at LIMO Dr Paul Harten said that although less visitors attended this show than in previous years, those that did attend had definite interests in mind.
He commented: "The tense economic situation is definitely perceptible – but that does not prevent a successful trade show.
"In 2007 many guests came to our booth, just to collect general information."
LIMO showcased its brand new LAZO Workstation for process development, which aims to bring higher productivity and lower per unit costs in photovoltaic and semiconductor applications.
The firm received the German Innovation Award in 2008 for its pioneering work in beam-shaping micro-optics.
