New Jersey-based firm Electrophysics has introduced a new compact infrared laser illuminator for the security and surveillance industry.
The ALS-20M illuminator delivers the highest near-infrared light output on the market for its size, which when combined with monochrome security camera systems covertly illuminates areas as large as five acres.
Using technology originally designed by Ford for automotive night vision systems, the product exhibits a high reliability and compared with LED matrix illuminators can illuminate targets in excess of 400 metres.
"The applications for a reliable high power infrared illuminator with Class One eye safety are widespread and the patented technology we are commercialising is one of the biggest innovations in night vision in quite some time," commented Art Stout, vice-president of Electrophysics.
Electrophysics recently introduced a high-performance night vision module designed for use with the Panasonic AVCCAM cameras such as the AG-HMC150, delivering high-resolution green images of night-time scenes.
