Diversified Technical Systems (DTS) has received its second consecutive Best of Sensors Gold Award at this year's Sensors Expo & Conference in Chicago.
The DTS 6DX sensor was selected by a panel of independent industry and media experts as the number one sensor product of 2009.
It incorporates three linear accelerometers and three angular rate sensors in a single, compact package and also features the highest ranges and bandwidth of any sensor of its type.
Six channels of output provide the data to calculate an acceleration vector, track its orientation in space and plot the kinematic motion of a test piece in 3D space.
Steve Pruitt, president and co-founder of DTS, described the accolade as "incredibly gratifying" for the company and its engineering team.
"What was initially imagined as an off-the-shelf solution set for embedded monitoring has blossomed into a line of configurable, rugged data logging sensors and DAQ products," he commented.
Last year DTS received the Gold Sensor Award at the same conference for its SLICE DAS products.
