Sensacell Corporation has announced the release of the latest addition to its line of modular sensor surface technology.
The HSI64-36-RGB module's full-colour RGB LED lighting array provides striking interactive graphics as well as video and ambient illumination, using touch sensors to allow users to draw patterns on its surface.
LED lighting is combined with capacitive proximity sensors in the form of tile-like electronic modules that plug together and are capable of detecting people and objects moving in close proximity.
Architects and designers will be able to integrate them into floors, walls and furniture to create unique-looking environments.
"Our original monochrome LED products made a big splash in the marketplace, we're expecting great things from our new full color product, there is just so much more that you can do with color," commented Sensacell's chief executive officer Joakim Hannerz.
The Sensacell system is a human interface technology that was exhibited at Expo 2008 in Zaragoza, Spain.
