Micro-Epsilon has released a new addition to its scanCONTROL range of 2D/3D laser profile sensors.
The scanCONTROL 2710 is more compact than its predecessors and also offers new set up and configuration software, suitable for space-conscious applications such as industrial automation, robotics and machine building.
"Additionally, the 2710 provides a greater choice of measurement ranges, which enables the sensor to solve a wider range of applications," commented Chris Jones, managing director of Micro-Epsilon UK.
The system can work in stationary mode, in which the sensor is fixed and looking at moving targets, or in scanning mode, which allows it to work in combination with a motion control device or a robot.
An innovative CMOS array with a real time, high-speed electronic shutter captures the entire profile and processes the information instantly.
Micro-Epsilon recently displayed its new thermometer CT laser range of infrared non-contact temperature sensors at Maintec 2009.
