Semiconductor developer Leadis Technology has announced the sample availability of two new LED controllers featuring the firm's LED-Sense temperature compensation engine.
The LDS9001 and LDS9003 allow for direct monitoring of the LED junction temperature, eliminating the need for an external temperature sensor.
Leadis' system ensures brightness and reliability throughout the LED's full operating temperature range and is targeted particularly at high-power lighting applications.
"We're pleased to bring to the market these innovative LED controllers that can significantly reduce the customer bill of material and design time," commented Skip Wong, vice-president of sales at Leadis.
Mr Wong added that the products are particularly suitable for use in high-power automotive and signage areas, significantly reducing overall system costs.
The firm recently announced sample availability of the LDS8161 and LDS8141, two new LED drivers which feature the same temperature compensation engine but are targeted specifically towards applications in mobile backlighting.
