Nine new LED lamps for home use will soon be introduced to the Japanese market by electronics giant Sharp.
Retrofitting is made simple and easy by the use of the same standard screw-in base sockets as ordinary incandescent lamps.
The DL-L60AV LED model includes an adjustable colour function that enables users to change the colour of the white light emitted by using an accessory remote control, allowing seven different shades of white to suit any setting.
Additionally, the DL-L601N LED model delivers a brightness of 560 lumens, one of the highest outputs in the industry, while keeping the same size and shape as a traditional incandescent lamp.
LED lamps consume a far smaller amount of energy than ordinary lighting solutions and all Sharp models feature a service life of 40,000 hours.
The products will be introduced to the Japanese market in July as part of the company's commitment to promoting energy-saving products.
