Rubicon Technology, a developer and manufacturer of monocrystalline sapphire products for LEDs and laser diodes, has announced that it will showcase its latest developments at the Laser World of Photonics show in Munich.
The company will exhibit large diameter sapphire products for windows and wafers, including the 200kg sapphire super boule, believed to be the world's largest manufactured sapphire crystal.
Hap Hewes, senior vice-president of sales and marketing at Rubicon, said the technology can provide significant design and performance benefits for customers.
"Our 200mm windows and wafers are now available in high volumes and our super boule crystal technology allows us to offer 300mm size windows and substrates in c-plane sapphire," he added.
This year's Laser World of Photonics show, due to run between June 15th and 18th, will also focus on future-oriented concepts for new LED technology, including street lighting, electronic displays and automotive applications.
