Electronics giant Toshiba has announced an expansion to its range of compact, high-efficiency white LEDs.
The daylight white TLWK1100C LED is 200 mcd brighter than the previous generation TLWK1100B, one of Toshiba's most popular white LEDs, making it suitable for automotive and LCD backlighting applications.
Meanwhile, the TLWWK1100B and TLWLK1100B are two new warm white devices, designed for general and backlighting purposes, which feature a luminous intensity of 1500 mcd.
Roger Shih, business development engineer at Toshiba's optoelectronics department, said the products are intended to address the market requirements for interior lighting, automotive and LCD backlight applications.
"We are aggressively introducing high-quality white lights that are capable of high colour uniformity and brightness," he added.
Toshiba Mobile Display recently announced that it would present six papers addressing next-generation display technologies at the Society for Information Display Symposium, which was held in San Antonia, Texas on June 3rd and 4th.
