A new range of digital infrared sensors has been released by Japanese manufacturer Keyence.
The FT series of sensors allows easy non-contact detection of surface temperature, offering a broad infrared spectrum and temperature sensing range from zero to 1,350 degrees C.
With the ability to measure infrared from distances of up to three metres, the sensor head can be mounted in a safe distance from potentially hazardous environments, while an optional air purge enclosure will eliminate dust buildup.
A high-speed response of ten milliseconds makes the FT series the fastest sensor product in its class and a fine 1.5 mm field of view means the FT-H10 is ideal for fast-moving targets such as heat seals, hot melts, heat-treated or hot-formed parts.
Established in Japan in 1974, Keyence produces sensors, barcode readers, vision systems and measuring equipment and serves customers ranging from Fortune 500 manufacturers to niche suppliers.
