A leading manufacturer of solid-state LED lighting fixtures is preparing for a visit from Congress after it was announced the US Representative Frank R Wolf will take a first-hand look around its Virginia-based facility.
Renaissance Lighting manufactures energy-efficient, ultra long-life solid-state LEDs, which are currently being considered by many sectors of industry as an energy-efficient alternative to conventional incandescent lighting.
Congressman Wolf, who will visit the firm's facility on August 17th, said as a co-sponsor of the American Energy Act and American Conservation and Clean energy Independence Act, his intention is to formulate a working energy policy for the US.
"Equally important is the way in which we consume energy, which is why I am interested in learning first-hand about the benefits of solid-state LED lighting during my visit to Renaissance Lighting," he added.
The firm recently underlined its green credentials by introducing a new lighting recycling program, which is designed to minimise the impact of its LED products on landfills.
