Six lamps incorporating the latest LED technology from OSRAM are demonstrating the street lighting of the future in a German town.
Outdoor lighting firm Schreder has designed and constructed six LED lamps of the P 186 type for Furth's traffic and energy supply company infra furth GmbH.
A total of 96 OSRAM Golden Dragon Plus LEDs with an output of 1.2 watts each are shared by two lamp sections, in order to provide local authorities with a more brilliant light output.
"We're happy that Schreder has implemented this innovative pilot project together with OSRAM in Furth," commented Elmar Eckl, who is in charge of street lighting at infra furth GmbH.
"The findings we obtain from this will certainly help us decide on further possible applications."
Earlier this year OSRAM Opto Semiconductors showcased its range of LED solutions with five other partners at the International Lighting Fair Tokyo.
