A new power record for ultraviolet solid-state performance has been set by the new Genesis 355-150 S laser from Coherent.
The laser, which is based on Coherent's patented optically-pumped semiconductor laser technology, delivers over 150 mW of TEM00 output for flow cytometry and other live-cell bio applications.
A true CW source of 355 nm UV laser light, the Genesis 355-150 S also benefits from low output noise and a single spatial output mode, making it perfect for high-throughput applications that require enhanced signal-to-noise ratio data.
The laser is also an ideal source for other fluorescence-based applications such as confocal cell microscopy, in which its short wavelength and low M2 beam provide peak excitation of Hoechst and Indo dyes.
Coherent recently introduced a laser pulse energy sensor, the J-50MB-IR EnergyMax, which is optimised for use with medical lasers, combining high accuracy, high damage threshold and a large active area.
