Fujifilm's Super CCD EXR sensor for digital cameras has come in for a major industry award from the European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA).
The sensor, which is capable of creating an unprecedented level of image quality and comes "as close to the human eye as one can imagine" according to the manufacturer, has received the Digital Imaging Innovation of the Year 2009-2010 award from judges at EISA.
Fujifilm now plans to design and launch a new range of digital cameras powered by the Super CCD EXR sensor in the Indian market.
Kenichi Tanaka, managing director of Fujifilm India, commented: "It is time for us to educate customers in India about such technological superiority and advancements such that they make informed decisions while buying a digital camera."
Fujifilm India recently launched a marketing campaign to coincide with Onam, the biggest festival of Kerala, as part of its business strategy to capture 15 per cent of the market share in the country in the next three years.
