Diodes Incorporated has announced that it has played a key role in the world premiere demonstration of the THX Big Room audio concept at the Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association (CEDIA) Expo 2009.
The manufacturer used the event to introduce its ZXCM800 multi-channel DAC and digital preamplifier.
With the Big Room concept, THX aims to bring professional audio quality and performance to high-end consumer amplifiers, preamplifiers and loudspeakers.
The ZXCZM800 performs as a digital crossover processor, providing frequency division and equalisation functions for the bi-amplified front and centre channels of the system.
Craig Bell, product marketing manager at Diodes Incorporated, commented: "The principle of using bi-amplified high efficiency loudspeakers to deliver reference sound pressure levels in large rooms presents performance demands on all system components."
The CEDIA 2009 Expo ran from September 9th until the 13th in Atlanta, Georgia and featured a keynote speech from astronaut Buzz Aldrin.
