PSI Group company Lumenova and optoelectronics manufacturer Jenoptik Polymer Systems have announced that they have concluded a wide-ranging strategic alliance in the area of LED lighting.
The firms have combined their resources in the hope of achieving a quick entry into the strong growth market of LED lighting in public spaces and in their commercial use.
Additionally, they will work together to advance new areas of application, such as tunnel lighting and illumination for production halls, with the aim of becoming joint leaders in these sectors in terms of costs and technology.
The long-term collaboration agreement covers technical collaboration in the further development of LED lighting technology based on the Lightengine developed by Lumenova as well as the development of new reflector optics.
In July Jenoptik Group broadened its presence in the Asian growth market with a new laser application centre in Korea, which was established in close cooperation with Telstar-Hommel.
