Optical component and system design tools developer Optiwave Systems has announced the availability of the industry's first optoelectronic circuit design software.
According to the firm, OptiSPICE is the only software that enables the design and simulation of optoelectronic circuits - from laser drivers to transimpedance amplifiers, optical interconnects and electronic equalizers - at the transistor level.
Dr. Jan Jakubczyk, president of Optiwave, said the product is the "next evolutionary step" in advanced simulation design software, providing designers with a reliable framework that can accurately predict signal behaviour in integrated circuits.
"With OptiSPICE as the foundation of our opto-electronic circuit design software initiative, we're now in a unique position to deliver a unified platform that enables the world's top research and development labs," added Optiwave's director of optical systems Dr Jackson Klein.
It follows the release of OptiSystem 8.0, the latest version of the firm's optical communication system design suite of software.
