Optoelectronics firm CyberOptics has announced that Assembleon, a major provider of surface mount technology robotic assembly equipment, will retain CyberOptics as its sole supplier for the alignment sensors deployed on its pick-and-place platforms.<br/><br/>Assembleon announced last year that it would develop its own alignment sensors in-house and would gradually phase out the use of CyberOptics alignment sensors.<br/><br/>Sales of new alignment sensors to Assembleon at this time accounted for approximately ten per cent of CyberOptics' total revenues.<br/><br/>Kathleen P Iverson, chairman and chief executive officer of CyberOptics, said the firm is "extremely pleased" to learn that it will retain the business of Assembleon.<br/><br/>"We also appreciate the confidence this world-class supplier of robotic assembly equipment is demonstrating in our alignment technology," she added.<br/><br/>In May, CyberOptics announced the opening of its new sales, service and training centre in Shanghai, which will also serve at the company's headquarters in China.!http://feeds.directnews.co.uk/feedtrack/justcopyright.gif?feedid=1785&itemid=19378606|alt=ADNFCR-1785-ID-19378606-ADNFCR|src=http://feeds.directnews.co.uk/feedtrack/justcopyright.gif?feedid=1785&itemid=19378606!
