Nanoco, a Manchester-based manufacturer of quantum dots, has announced that it has signed a joint development agreement with a major Japanese electronics firm under which it will design and develop quantum dots for use in LEDs and LCD televisions.<br/><br/>Under the agreement, Nanoco will receive an upfront payment and further milestone payments as the deal progresses.<br/><br/>When the 18-month development time period is up, it is expected that the electronics firm will sign a supply and licence agreement with Nanoco.<br/><br/>"We are delighted to enter into this agreement with a major company aimed at using our quantum dots in LCD TVs," commented Michael Edelman, chief executive officer at Nanoco.<br/><br/>"This follows an earlier agreement with another major corporation, which is progressing well.
