ERNI Electronics has extended its range of cable connectors in order to meet customer demand.
The German-based company, which manufactures connectors, backplanes and complete systems, solder assemblies and cable systems, is increasingly automating its processes in order to supply its cable assemblies at more economical prices.
A new automated cable assembly system enables the firm to produce fully assembled MiniBridge cable connectors with a 1.27mm pitch with the relevant number of pins (between one and 12).
It also has PVC, high temperature and halogen-free cables in stock and assembles and tests up to 5,000 cable connectors per shift using the new machinery.
Previously time-consuming aspects of production, such as flexible cable printing, cutting to length and termination are now executed automatically, within seconds.
In related news, earlier this year radio frequency and modular connector designer Bomar Interconnect Products released its Killer Compression Connectors, which are comprised of RCA, Type F and BNC plugs.
