One US-based company has introduced a new hermetic receptacle for Souriau's microComp connector line.
A member of the Souriau Group, PA&E's new product requires a lightweight, high-density rectangular connector and can be used in harsh environmental applications without compromising hermetic integrity.
Weighing up to 40 per cent less than its stainless steel counterparts, the hermetic receptacle is designed for the microComp 25-pin configuration.
The firm's Kryoflex polycrystalline ceramic means it has a leak rate of less than 1X10-9 cc/sec helium at one atmospheric differential pressure.
When tested in IAW MIL-STD 1344, Method 3003, the receptacle provides an insulation resistance of more than 5,000 megohms at 500 VDC.
It operates between -55°C and +170C and is constructed with beryllium copper alloy contacts finished in nickel and gold.
This news comes after Aaeon recently announced the launch of its new EMB-9658T, which equips Intel 82566MM and Intel 82573L chipsets for two 10/100/1000Base-TX Ethernet RJ-45 connectors.
