Mouser has launched a new specialised inverted SMT thru-board connector which utilises surface-mount technology on the top side of LED boards.
The Tyco Electronics/AMP Mini CT connector claims to get rid of the need for dressing wires on top of the boards by providing an innovative way of transmitting power from the underside of FR4 or aluminium-clad PCBs.
A two to six-position product, the connector may be reflow soldered due to the use of temperature-resistant materials and may also fit through holes or notches in the boards thanks to its compact low-profile design and rounded corners.
It is compatible with vacuum pickup because of its flat top surface and is rated at 3A per contact on 24 AWG wire.
This news comes after Bulgin announced last week that it has introduced a new connector which uses Bluetooth technology rather than cables to facilitate communication between equipment with RS485 or RS232 data ports.
