Electronics components supplier Bourns has announced that it is expanding its line of fixed resistor products.
The range will not include the first Stripline 50 ohm Termination in the industry to feature 1,000 watts (W) at frequencies up to one gigahertz.
As a result of the thermal impedance of the new radio frequency Power Termination, it is able to run at very high power and there are low amounts of reflections because the voltage standing wave ratio reaches a maximum of 1.06.
Cathal Sheehan, product marketing manager for the Bourns Resistive Products division, explained that the firm's experience with thickfilm technology means it has been able to create "a device that offers low inductance, higher operating temperatures and up to 1000 W load for next-generation applications such as high power transmitting stations and digital terrestrial television (DTTV)".
Meanwhile, OSRAM Opto Semiconductor has announced that it will be unveiling its new compact LEDs which are suitable for ultra-slim products at the LEDs 2009 Conference.
