A new portable LED light has been developed by Extreme Safety which can be moved easily, while still being durable.
The SmithLight is contained within a heavy duty plastic casing and can extend to two different height settings, as well as many different angles.
Weighing 7.7 kg, including batteries and accessories, the light head is fitted with more than 250 LEDs, Mining Safety reports.
This means that it can be used in a range of settings and the tough exterior ensures it is suitable for work in difficult environments.
Other features of the SmithLight include a low-battery indicator light and charging cables, which are stored with the lights body for extra convenience.
Earlier this week, Environment Leader reported that the Florida Energy Systems Consortium is researching a new type of LED that can collect and store energy during the day, as well as giving off light when it gets dark.
