ITT Interconnect Solutions has released a new power cable connector which aims to offer the smallest size profiles while retaining mechanical strength.
The BIW Power Cable Connector is designed to join cables - both flat and round - up to 1 AWG and features "robust" internal components and a tough steel outer shell.
Keith Teichmann, director of marketing at ITT, claimed that the product can be installed prior to its delivery or on-site depending on the clients' wishes.
He explained: "Our new power cable connectors eliminate the need to splice downhole cables, which can save up to three hours of rig time, increasing efficiency and lowering costs."
The item is rate of 5,000 VAC for up to 140 A and has a pressure rating of 5,000 psig at 149 degrees C.
Last month, AMEinfo reported that NMK are set to provide Atlas Television with Neutrik's ConvertCon - the first 3 pole unisex XLR cable connector.
