Molex has announced the launch of a new circular hybrid technology (CHT) connector, which the company has claimed could offer customers savings in various costs.
The connector, which consists of four Cat 5e data lines and two power lines carrying 10 A, could reduce the costs involved with installation and cabling, according to the manufacturers.
It can be used in automation control devices, base stations, telecoms infrastructure and HVAC control systems.
Gerd Klaiber, European product manager for automation and electrical products at Molex, explained that the M12 connector can be adapted by the makers for specific requirements.
He said: "The Molex shielding concept of the CHT connector is not limited to the M12 format."
The company explained that the product is over-moulded to ensure complete sealing, with a wrap-around metal tube for signal integrity.
This week, ITT Interconnect solutions recently announced the expansion of its line of APD Series circular connectors, with the addition of the new APD one-way finger-protective device.
