A new Wet/Wet differential pressure sensor has been launched by American Sensor Technologies, which the company claims can meet the demanding requirements of industrial applications.
The AST5100 uses the same electronics system as the AST20HA pressure transducer, which means it is compensated from zero to 55 degrees C, reports Test Measurement.
It has been designed for level measurement, flow calculation across an orifice and filter monitoring applications, among other uses, explained the website.
The news provider stated: "With the use of an orifice, the AST5100 series can be used to measure flow rates of liquids or gases based on the size of the orifice."
A Macro Sensors linear variable differential transformer is used in the item, which allows it to measure the movement of bellows in ranges as low as zero to five inches of water.
In other sensor news, an assistant professor from the University of Washington has developed a low-cost temperature sensor for use outdoors, by putting a tiny device inside a tennis ball.
