A video of a woman named Lindsey Roberts wearing an LED wedding dress on her big day has started a surge of interest in the idea, it has been reported.
Electrical clothing company Enlighted creates various custom-made garments that light up with the help of LEDs, but the glowing wedding dress appears to impress many women, according to elightbulbs.
The dresses, which are made to order from electrical designer Janet Cooke Hansen, are wired with more than 300 LEDs and are switched on via a remote control.
"Videos of Lindsey's wedding dress are circulating YouTube and have started a frenzy among female viewers who want to recreate the effect on their special days," stated the website.
Enlighted are quick to stress that the garments uses long-lasting energy-saving light bulbs, which it claimed allows the dress to be passed down and used by future generations.
Designer Janet Cooke Hansen has clients in the television, art, advertising and music industries.
