A Philips lighting solution has won an award for its design in the Next Generation Luminaires (NGL) competition.
The VizorLED was named 'best in class' - an accolade only handed out to four of the 126 entries in the contest.
John Campsmith, general manager of Philips Wide-Lite, stated that he is pleased that the product - which is designed for use in parking, lowbay and under-canopy areas - received such high praise.
The NGL is sponsored by the Department of Energy and several industry associations, with the aim of promoting innovation in energy-efficient LED lighting solutions.
Mr Campsmith commented: "At Philips we are constantly trying to enhance life with light, to deliver new LED lighting solutions that can address energy efficiency desires while simultaneously enhancing an environment."
This week, Philips Lumiled revealed that it has been handed ISO/TS16949 certification for all three of its global design, development and manufacturing sites in Singapore, San Jose and Penang.
