The OmneMed line, which features EnduroNest hyperboloid contacts, creates a 'nest' of gold plated wires to provide a high integrity electrical interface with low mating force.
According to the firm, this style of contact is considered to be one of the most reliable in the industry and is highly resistant to shock.
The new range of OmneMed connectors are available in kits with crimp or soldercup contacts which can be assembled in different ways.
International sales manager at Omnetics Joe Held said: "These connectors are capable of over 10,000 mating cycles and can be attached to cables either in our production facility or by the end user with minimal tooling."
He added that they will primarily be used on medical cable harnesses.
Tyco Electronics has also launched a new connector recently, which it claims is cost-effective as it can be used with both copper and aluminium magnet wires.
