Vishay has launched a new streaming video product demonstration on its website which it hopes will aid customers in their understanding of using ambient light sensors in their applications.
The clip shows how devices show a deviation in the brightness level detected depending on the light source used.
However, the products offered by Vishay most closely match the spectral sensitivity of the human eye as they display almost no deviation, the firm claims.
This means that the company's light sensors can be used to automatically control the brightness of LEDs in various consumer electronics by reducing power consumption and increasing user comfort levels.
The company explains: "Vishay's ambient light sensors feature an exclusive infrared filtering epoxy technology to match the spectral sensitivity of the human eye, with minimal sensitivity to light beyond the visible range."
Vishay is one of the world's leading manufacturers of discrete semiconductors and passive components.
