Sony has started taking pre-orders for its new LED 3D TV ahead of this summer's World Cup.
Sony's Bravia HX903 is available for pre-order at London's Harrods department store with the 52-inch model available for £2,500. Sony is also promising a 46-inch and 60-inch model to be released to the general public in the coming months.
The new Bravia LED models also come with integrated Freeview HD.
Sony has also reached a deal with football's world governing body FIFA to film this summer's World Cup in South Africa, which kicks off on June 11th.
The FIFA World Cup has in the past been a place for new television technology to be presented to the wider world.
The 2006 tournament in Germany was the first to be broadcast in HD with UK broadcasters BBC and ITV using the technology.
American network ESPN has already committed to showing 25 games from the tournament in 3D to UK viewers. BSkyB is launching a dedicated 3D channel during the summer.
