The ZX series of rugged computer servers from Z Microsystems incorporates enhanced military-grade features in its connectors and lockable security panel.
Currently being provided to the Italian navy through collaboration with EuroLink Systems, the servers promise the kind of stability and ruggedness from their connectors to their thermal management that is required by military users.
Mil-Circular connectors are available on the EMI-filtered power supplies, while the outer chassis is built to withstand vibration, shock and extremes of temperature.
Effective thermal regulation with an in-built environmental control board further allows the servers to resist overheating when ambient temperatures rise.
Jack Wade, chief executive officer of Z Microsystems, which provides mission-ready servers to military users, says: "As in the US, the European military is looking for less size and weight, more flexibility and higher performance in computers and servers."
Z Microsystems also produces a range of rugged storage devices, with pocket-sized removable drives built to withstand shocks.
