Opnext will be demonstrating four of its latest laser technology and optoelectronics projects at this year's Optical Fiber Communication Conference.
Amongst the demos highlighting Opnext's core technologies is the first live showing of a real-time 100 Gbps dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) solution using a single wavelength coherent receiver.
The company is also demonstrating a 43 Gbps Tunable 5x7" 300-pin transponder featuring a Differential Quadrature Phase Shift Keying modulation scheme already available for customers to purchase.
Opnext believes this transponder will allow the industry to take the next step towards integrated solutions for up to 43 Gbps long-haul line-side applications.
Gilles Bouchard, Opnext's president and chief executive, said: "This has been a year of many firsts for Opnext in the 40 Gbps and 100 Gbps space and our live real-time single-wavelength 100 Gbps DWDM trial has positioned Opnext as a leader in next-generation technologies."
As well as showcasing these four products, Opnext has joined forces with three other optoelectronics companies to demonstrate the successful passing of 100-gigabit Ethernet between a router and an optical transport system using CFP technologies.
