LED lighting technology, in the form of daytime running lights, has become standard in Audi's 2011 range of cars.
According to press release, the S line versions of Audi's much vaunted TT range will include the form of luminaire.
The German car manufacturer, owned by Volkswagen, has already incorporated LEDs into its headlights for another of its best sellers, the Audi R8.
Furthermore, the Q7 model, a people-carrier, will also incorporate the technology as the car maker embraces the need to reduce emissions where possible and as a result use diodes in the headlamps of more of its cars.
Daytime running lights are designed so that other drivers can see the car better. In countries such as Sweden the lights are compulsory on all cars.
In addition, more and more vehicles going on sale incorporate full LED headlights which is sure to be please component manufacturers already expecting growth through 2010.
