A new video editing device will allow users to keep working in the dark, according to the products' manufacturers.
Blackmagic, which has design offices in the US, the UK and across the Asia-Pacific region, hails its new 16 x 16 routing switcher as "incredibly easy to use" and is looking to target editors, designers and digital artists.
As well as the attractive "crystal-look" buttons, editors and designers can take advantage of the application's LED backlit buttons which allow people to continue to work in dark rooms or studios and clearly see every button.
Its advanced features include a three gigabytes per second serial digital interface (SDI) as well full SDI re-clocking.
Chief executive Grant Petty is excited about the ease with which customers will be able to install the application and begin using its numerous design tools straight away.
He said: "I think if anyone ever wanted a router but could not afford it, or did not know how to install it, then Smart Videohub will be the perfect solution. It's easy to use as a simple switch box, but it's a true professional router inside."
