Sony's new Bravia 3D TV carries an "LED boost" feature as part of its exciting new product going on sale this summer.
Its HX803 model will come with a "package of products, services and free content" in an attempt to woo customers to part with their cash.
The LED boost facility is one of three unique innovations from Sony - along with its 3D up conversion and High Speed Precision tools - which the company believe will make the experience "even more exciting".
Sony made its target audience clear using direct references to the FIFA World Cupcomma which starts in the same month as the HX803 becomes available across its 1,300 stores.
Furthermore, Sony will also film 25 matches from the upcoming tournament using 3D cameras and produce a Blu-ray official World Cup film for football fans later in the year.
Many leading consumer electronics giants such as Samsung and LG are releasing 3D TVs over the coming months and this may lead to an increase in shipments for manufacturers of LED components.
